The Carrabba’s Italian Grill is founded way back in December 26, 1986 by Johnny Carrabba III, whose full name is John Charles Carrabba, III. He founded the restaurant together with the help of his uncle named, Damian Mandola.
The very first restaurant that opened was located in Kirby Dive in Houston, Texas. This was where all the magic happened. It was indeed a dream come true for Johnny and Damian to finally put up their first dream restaurant, as they wanted to showcase their talents in cooking. Soon after, the first Carrabba’s Italian Grill restaurant proved to be an instant success. This is why the two then again embarked on another goal of having a second restaurant. And that is just what happened, as the second Carrabba’s Italian Grill opened at Woodway and Voss street.
The popularity of the restaurant chain grew, which is why they decided to have a change of marketing strategy. They then rebranded and renamed the restaurant chain as “Rosie Carrabba’s”. It was said that it was to honor the sister of Damian, named Rose. As of now, Johnny Carrabba and his family are the owners of the two original branches of Carrabba’s Italian Grill

Things went smoothly for his business, which is why on 1993; he underwent a joint venture together with Outback Steakhouse, Inc. The joint venture resulted to 10 new Carrabba’s Italian Grill restaurant chains opening. These were in Houston, Texas, and in Florida.
